Grant is one of the first Family Law Arbitrators. He chairs the Forum of Family Arbitrators  In his private practice, Grant advises clients from all parts of the world on all aspects of English family law and is recognised in directories including  the Citywealth Leaders List  which refers to his “formidable intellect and great attention to detail on the one hand, with a warmth and practicality on the other.” He heads up the Family Middle East practice as well as maintaining a busy international and English-based caseload. He is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

He has been involved in family law organisations at the forefront of legal training and reform for over 20 years, including spending five years on the National Committee of the leading group of specialist family lawyers, Resolution. Grant was Managing Partner of Charles Russell LLP for eight years until 2007.

He frequently writes and lectures on family law subjects at conferences in England and abroad. Grant is also a trained collaborative lawyer and Joint General Editor of Butterworths Family Law Service as well as Consultant Editor for part of Halsbury’s Laws.
