Between 1995 and 2010 I was a High Court Judge in the Family Division. I heard many financial provision cases including Parlour, Sorrell, Norris, Rose, McFarlane, Stark, Crossley, and Mills v McCartney, and appeals from District Judges. I also sat in the Court of Appeal from time to time. Since I retired I have sat, if required, in the Family Division hearing financial cases. Between 2010 and 2015 I was a judge of the Court of Appeal of Jersey and of Guernsey. I also have conducted many private Financial Dispute Resolution hearings both in England and abroad (Hong Kong) and several arbitrations (financial) under the IFLA scheme. I was very much involved, as a member of the steering group, in setting up the IFLA scheme.
