Alison Bull

T: 447918942652  |  alison.bull@mills-reeve.com

I am a partner at national law firm Mills & Reeve LLP, and since 2008 have headed the Manchester family and children team and our national non-court dispute resolution practice. I qualified as a solicitor in 1997 and have specialised in family work since then. I act for clients across England and Wales and overseas, in and outside court.
As well as being a qualified children and financial arbitrator, I am an accredited family and civil/commercial mediator, and qualified to supervise other mediators, and to meet with children. I am a non-practising counsellor.

I am passionate about assisting families to resolve their disputes without court proceedings, in mediation where possible, and in arbitration if they are unable to reach an agreement and need me to make important decisions for them.

Whilst being recognised in the independent legal directories as a leading individual and for legal expertise in complex cases, my approach is a very human one, with a focus on minimising the impact of disputes on all of the family. Family issues often cause a huge amount of stress and/or emotional distress, and arbitration conducted decisively and with empathy can be brilliantly effective at achieving a swift and cost-effective resolution, whilst also enabling those involved to have their say.

“Alison Bull is singled out as being ‘just superb at diffusing conflicts; she is astute and technically brilliant and is a top-drawer family lawyer and mediator with an excellent manner with clients’ and ‘very sympathetic but gets to the point’”(Legal 500)
