Derek Marshall is a very experienced family finance practitioner and has a particular interest in high net worth cases where there are issues arising out of companies and partnership businesses. His civil practice includes the sort of commercial contract, professional negligence and personal injury claims which so often impact on family finance disputes. He is also used to dealing with insolvency matters including both corporate and personal cases and has considerable experience in dealing with cases in which directors are personally at risk for the activities of their company.

Derek Marshall is a Civil Dispute Mediator. He has acted as a Mediator in over 50 cases both in this jurisdiction and abroad, and by private appointment and Court nomination. He is a members of Wessex Civil Mediation Group and the Standing Council of Mediation Advocates. He is also a member of the Professional Negligence Bar Association, the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers as well as the Family Law Bar Association and Resolution. His aim is always to bring practical good sense to every case and to see the outcome in terms of securing the best possible commercial resolution. In his spare time Mr Marshall is a keen runner, cyclist and football supporter.
