Richard is a barrister who has a background in planning, finance and property law which can be particularly useful in resolving matrimonial disputes. Richard sees himself as a problem-solver, calling upon his past experience as well as his legal acumen to provide solutions for his clients. Richard spent some 8 years in the Armed Services prior to working in the engineering industry. After some years with Hawker Siddeley he became the CEO of a company involved in the European oil and coal industry. When this company was acquired by an American concern he decided to pursue his life-long interest in the law and obtained a 1st Class Honours degree in law (followed by a Masters degree in Legal Practice and a Diploma in Planning & Environmental law), before being called to the Bar in 1997. He has practised in the area of matrimonial property disputes since being called to the bar – he is also an accredited Mediator and he has resolved many matrimonial property (and other) disputes by this route.
