I have been a family lawyer for over 20 years and am head of the family team at Andrew Jackson. I specialise in advising upon financial claims arising from divorce and relationship breakdown, generally in cases with high value and a degree of complexity. My clients are from all walks of life, but typically are business owner/managers, company directors, professionals, farmers or their spouses. An increasing number of my clients are based abroad. I am a member of Resolution, and also a qualified and practicing mediator and collaborative lawyer, committed to dispute resolution in the context of separating couples.

My experience of mediation and the collaborative process places me in an ideal position to identify which form of dispute resolution is best suited to my own clients and their individual circumstances. It also gives me insight into how best to tailor the particular process I am operating within to the needs of the participants. I recognise that, for some couples, a negotiated settlement is not always possible and that they require someone to adjudicate upon the issues between them. Arbitration undoubtedly provides one of the most effective ways of achieving that objective for couples in this position. With my many years of experience of the court process and my recognised expertise in this area of the law I believe I am ideally suited to arbitrate in cases of this nature.

Having qualified as a solicitor in 1979 and as a Family Mediator in 1989 I started my own specialist Family Law practice in 1991, which company of which I am MD now employs some 75 staff specialising in family work. Having run my own business for 21 years, I am well acquainted with the issues in cases involving business interests within the divorce process.

I have a case load of a substantial number of high net worth and complex child related cases and I employ the additional conflict management skills learned as part of mediation and collaborative practice in all areas of work. I was secretary of the Peninsula Family Justice Council from its inception, and former secretary to Resolution in the South West. I am willing to travel to conduct Arbitration cases
